Every tool in this practice rests on theological claims — not decorative ones, but structural ones. They determine what the diagnostic measures, what the sessions are for, and what success in the formation journey actually looks like.

Formation is not self-improvement with spiritual language. It is not discipline producing better outcomes.
It is God at work within the human person — progressively reordering the whole self under his active reign. The will, the mind, the body, the relationships — everything the leader is — brought into alignment with what God intends.
This is the moment when a leader realises something is true about himself — and knows he did not arrive there by analysis. The session did not produce it. God did. The session only held the space.
"It is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
Philippians 2:13Formation ist nicht Selbstverbesserung mit spiritueller Sprache. Es ist nicht Disziplin, die bessere Ergebnisse produziert.

Philipper 2:13The governing image of this practice is the Arch of the Soul. A leader under weight is like an arch — pressure comes from above and must go somewhere.
There are only two directions it can go.
Weight endured
It accumulates. Over years it reshapes identity, marriage, faith, and body. The leader carries what God was meant to hold. The formation gap widens.
Weight transferred
Transferred to the God who holds authority over what the leader is responsible for. The source of strength is not personal capacity. The arch holds.
Formation is the slow restructuring of the inner life so that weight passes through rather than ends.
This is not a metaphor for stress management. It is a description of a real transfer — between the leader's will and God's authority. Learned slowly, through surrender, through the practices that position the soul to release what it was never meant to hold.
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."

Psalm 55:23The CARRY framework is not a coaching model. It is the theological arc of formation from self-made to called leadership — five movements that correspond to the inner shifts God works in the leader who yields to his forming.
Honest seeing. God confronts not to condemn but to free — bringing what was hidden into the light where formation can begin.
The source changes. From self-generated to God-given. The only authority that does not ultimately consume the person who holds it.
Carrying what was entrusted. Releasing the rest back to the One who actually holds it. The practice of sustainable authority.
The potter's hand, working through what the leader cannot avoid and cannot explain. Pressure as formation, not punishment.
The most powerful posture available to a leader — because it is led by God rather than driven by the self. Faithful when no one is watching.
The CARRY arc is not five coaching stages. It is five movements in a theological journey toward the aligned will.

Psalm 23:3God is not a resource. God is not a concept that improves wellbeing.
God is the authority that leads — and the one who acts within the person who submits to that authority.
The formation journey is not undertaken with God's endorsement. It is initiated by God, sustained by God, and completed by God — in which the leader's role is to cooperate, receive, and obey.
In practice, this is the moment before a decision — when the leader does not reach for the answer he already has, but waits for something he cannot generate. Most leaders have experienced this moment and not known what to call it. This is what it is.
This is what distinguishes Christian formation from every secular equivalent. The self-made soul cannot improve its way to called leadership. It can only surrender its way there.
And the called leader — the goal of the formation journey — is not the leader who has achieved spiritual excellence. It is the leader who has learned to carry what God has entrusted, release what God has not, and obey what has been received. Even when the outcome is not visible. Even when no one is watching.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5–6Gott ist keine Ressource. Gott ist nicht ein Konzept, das das Wohlbefinden verbessert.
